Forty Rugby League clubs from across New South Wales have today received a combined $1.2 million in funding as a part of the New South Wales Government’s Community Building Partnership program.

The NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership program is designed to support local jobs, stimulate growth and improve community facilities.

Clubs from as far north as Lennox Head and as far south as Moruya have received funding which will be used for everything from the updating of lighting to the renovation of club canteens.

NSWRL General Manager, Geoff Carr said this is another positive step forward for grass roots Rugby League in NSW.

“On behalf of all the clubs that have received funding through this wonderful initiative, I would like to sincerely thank the NSW Government for their generous contribution,” Mr Carr said.

“Many future NRL stars start out at clubs such as these and this funding will go a long way towards providing NSW junior talent with the appropriate facilities to further their development.”

Some of the big winners were clubs such as Glenmore Park JRL who received $100,000 for sports field development and also Gosford-Kariong JRL who received $80,000 for the upgrade of Carrington Oval.
