Tuesday, 11 August 2009 00:00

The Junior Black Sticks Women today suffered their second defeat of the tournament with a loss against Argentina 5:2.

New Zealand conceded a penalty corner goal in the first five minutes of the game and never really recovered. Argentina scored their second goal in the 26 minute, but New Zealand came back with a penalty corner goal from Katie Glynn. However then let in a further goal just before half time going to the break 3:1 down.

In the second half Argentina continued to dominate the match, despite a field goal from Katie Glynn. The final score of 5:2 left the New Zealand players disappointed. They now have to regroup and prepare for their next match against South Africa.

Next match: JBS Women v South Africa, Wednesday 12th August at 14:30 Boston time – Thursday 13th August at 06:30 NZ time. (Boston is 16 hours behind)
