WITH thousands of punters set to flock to the Gold Coast Turf Club for the Tuesday 3rd November Melbourne Cup Raceday celebrations, the Club has arranged a fleet of free courtesy buses.

A Gold Coast Turf Club spokesperson said the shuttle buses are designed to make travel to and from the track as easy as possible.

“We encourage everyone to leave the car behind and arrive on Melbourne Cup day by the free public transport arranged by the Club.

“It’s the simplest and most direct route to and from the track and erases the stress of finding a park.

“And best of all the buses are completely free, so everyone can travel with ease,” he said.

The southern courtesy bus originates at Tweed Heads from 9.00am, travelling every half hour until 11:00am.

Southbound buses will also take people home 15 minutes after the last race of the day.

The northern courtesy bus route originates at the Southport Workers Club in Scarborough Street at Southport and runs twice at 10:00am and 11:00am, also returning home 15 minutes after the last race of the day.

The Surfers Paradise ‘park and ride’ shuttle leaves from the Gold Coast City Council Bundall Administration Centre Evandale car park from 9:00am to 11:30am.

Outbound shuttles will return to the Evandale car park from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and Broadbeach from 4:30pm to 7:30pm.

The Turf Club gates open at 9:00am with the first race screening from Flemington at 9:20am.

The second biggest day of the Gold Coast Turf Club’s annual racing calendar is expected to bring thousands of punters to the Club to enjoy the live racing action, Fashions on the Field, pamper lounges, live entertainment, dining packages and full bar and betting facilities.
