The Townsville McDonald’s Crocodiles have scored an emphatic 82-53 victory over the Wollongong ahm Hawks at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre tonight in Game Two of their National Basketball League Semi Final match-up, forcing a third and deciding game on Saturday night.

The Crocs trailed 0-1 in the best-of-three series prior to tonight’s match after losing Game One 87-68 in Wollongong, but outscored the Hawks 23-9 in the opening period to take control of Game Two early.  The Crocs then increased their lead at every change to run out 29-point winners.

The Hawks’ total score of 53 points was the lowest by any team in the NBL this season.

Corey ‘Homicide’ Williams led the Crocs with 23 points, while Russell Hinder added 16 and Cameron Tovey 15.

Rhys Martin top-scored for Wollongong with 15 points, Cameron Tragardh had 11 and Luke Martin 8.

Game Three will be held on Saturday at the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30PM (local time).

The winner of the Townsville-Wollongong series will face the Perth Wildcats in the 2010 NBL Grand Final series, which tips-off with Game One on Friday 5 March at Challenge Stadium in Perth at 7:00PM (local time).
